What is Modular Construction?

Mod•u•lar (adj): made up of separate modules that can be arranged, placed or easily interchanged.

The term "modular" is a method of construction, not a type or style of a home. The difference comes from where the home is built, not how. Modular homes are built in a factory setting to the same building codes required for a site built house. Construction takes place inside protecting the new home from adverse weather conditions during the construction process.

Rigorous quality control checks are performed during every step of the factory building process. When completed, each module is carefully wrapped and protected for the journey to the building site. Upon arrival, a crane carefully sets the modules in place and the local finishing work begins. This final step transforms the separate modules into a home to be enjoyed and proud of.

Thanks to CAD, computer-aided design, modular homes are now available in all housing styles from modern to traditional and everything in between. Finishing choices include all the popular amenities like solid-surface countertops, hardwood floors and tile showers.

The Rhode Island Modular Homes building method offers customers higher quality and more amenities for their housing dollar as compared to other methods of construction.
